Remembering Ava

Ava's memorial service will be held on Monday, June 4th at 10:00am at our home church, The Journey, in Saint Louis, Missouri. The Tower Grove Campus is located at 2833 S Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63139-1006

There will be a reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Ava's name to the United Leukodystrophy Foundation. They are a non-profit organization which provides information and support for families and individuals with diseases like the one that took Ava's life. Click HERE for more information.

We cannot thank you enough for your outpouring of love and support. Every comment on the blog, every post on facebook, every text and email is read and cherished, and reminds us just how far reaching Ava's life was. We are so very grateful.

  1. We aren't blessed to know you personally, but like many others, your story and your wonderful baby has really touched our hearts. We have an eight month old and can't imagine losing her, so our hearts go out to you, but at the same time, we give thanks that she is free from pain and with our loving Father in heaven. Praying for you all.

  2. My heart aches for your family, though Ava is blessed to be at peace having spent her entire life feeling nothing but the love and security of her family! I wish there was something I could do.. so I will continue to pray for your peace and healing. I hope Elizabeth's pneumonia is improving as well.

  4. Although we do not grieve as those without hope, I can only imagine how your hearts must be aching after losing your precious Ava. I will be praying for your entire family, especially Ava's sweet big sisters. I pray you feel God's presence in such a special way as you grieve and face the days ahead. Again sending hugs and prayers your way from Düsseldorf.--Shannon Musselman

  5. We're so sorry to learn about Ava's death and continue to pray for you and your family during this sad, but triumphant time. We knew Sid at Abundant Life church, and know so many church members there are praying for you, too. May the peace that passes all understanding comfort your entire family.

  7. Dear Sara and Matt, We were all so blessed to get to know sweet Ava. She was just so precious and cute. I think about and pray for you often since I heard the news and pray for strength, hope and peace during this very difficult time of missing her. I see her sweet pictures and am reminded that she was so blessed to have you for her parents and family. May God in His faithfulness heal the pain in your hearts. Let me know if we can help with any errands, doing things around the house, etc. I am here if you need anything. Love, Rena
